Hungary has altogether 4 public medical universities with English language curriculums of general medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy. Some of the universities also offer “biomedical engineering” majors for both B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees. Their roots of higher education date back in early, 1900s when East Germany has shared a tremendous amount of academic assets with its “fellow-comrad” countries along now what is called “Central Europe.” Still, the University of Pécs was established in 1400s, which was one of the “under the Pope” regions during that era.
